Activate your account
Approximately two hours after accepting your offer, you will need to activate your student account. Follow the steps below based on how you applied or your student type.
Start at Step 1 if you:
- Applied directly to the University through the portal (Early Entry Program)
- Applied through the University Admissions Centre (UAC)
Start at Step 3 if you:
- Applied directly to the University for Open Foundation or Yapug (via an application form)
- Are a postgraduate student
- Are an international student
Step 1: Login to myHub using your 8-digit application number or 9-digit UAC reference number as your username and your date of birth as your password (DDMM).
Step 2: Go to ‘Student Login Details’ in myHub and take note of your University of Newcastle student number (i.e., 3184552).
Step 3: Open the Activate User Account form.
Step 4: Enter your student number and complete the remaining questions in the form, including creating a password. You will also be asked to enable Multi-Factor Authentication at this stage – click here for more information.
Step 5: Read the IT Conditions of Use Policy and tick the ‘I accept the terms in the IT Conditions of Use Policy’ radio button to indicate that you understand and agree to the conditions.
Step 6: Click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the form after completing the Captcha test. It will take up to 24 hours for your account to be created.
Step 7: Once your account is created, login to myHub and complete the Mandatory To Do List.
If you are a current or continuing student, you don’t need to activate your student account again. Your existing username and password are still valid.
If you are returning to the university after previously studying, you will need to follow the steps above to activate your account.
