NeW Space
Let's face it, we're spoilt for choice for great coffee here in Newcastle, and our city campus is conveniently located in the thick of it. Whether you're grabbing a quick takeaway before class, fuelling up for a study session or simply taking a much-deserved break from the books - a hot beverage is something every student can appreciate.
Our picks are located in all directions from NeW Space, giving you the opportunity to see our diverse city and get caffeinated in the process.
1. The Press Book House
Doubling as a second hand bookshop and all-around cosy place to sit back with your brew of choice, The Press Book House is conveniently located on Hunter Street directly opposite NeW Space. Pro tip: try one of the toasties from their rotating special menu, you won't regret it!
2. Bank Corner
Tucked down an alley-way in Newcastle's west end, Bank Corner is a true hidden gem. Whether you choose to sip your coffee Parisian-style at one of their street-side tables or relax in their cosy courtyard and hit the books, you're in for an enjoyable time.
3. The Kiosk Newcastle Beach
If you prefer your brew with a side of beach views, the Kiosk Newcastle Beach might become your go-to. With the Newcastle tram running from Civic (located outside NeW Space's front door!) directly to Newcastle Beach, you can get from lecture theatre to the seaside in less than 15 minutes.
4. Corner House
Take a walk down King Street before turning left on Union Street and you'll find yourself in leafy Cooks Hill, home to Corner House. Serving up their single origin alongside a selection of organic tea, Corner House has a spacious back area making it our pick for an off-campus study session or group assignment.
5. Fast Fuel
For the times when you need a caffeine hit stat, look no further than Fast Fuel - located on the ground floor of the NeW Space itself. We recommend bringing along your reusable coffee cup, grabbing a takeaway and enjoying it on one of the building’s many balconies!
