Nutrition and Dietetics Telehealth Clinic
The University of Newcastle offers personalised dietary assessment and advice via a Nutrition and Dietetics student lead telehealth clinic. The service is provided remotely via Zoom, under the supervision of an Accredited Practising Dietitian and is free to access.
You will complete a comprehensive assessment of your food and nutrient intake, and eating behaviours. During a 30 minute individual consultation, a student dietitian will work with you to develop personalised goals and provide advice, strategies and resources to support you to optimise your diet. Two additional students will observe the consultation.
The service is available for adults (aged 18 years and over) seeking dietary advice for type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and/or weight management, or adults with no pre-existing medical conditions seeking healthy eating advice.
Referral and appointments
No referral is necessary.
Consultations will be available Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings.
Once you’ve booked you will be sent a link to a form for screening and to provide some information on health and diet prior to your first session.
This is a free service.
Online, this service is provided via telehealth using Zoom and will need a computer or mobile device suitable for video calls.
You will therefore need reasonable internet access.
