About our students
Our students are learning how to be excellent dietitians…before they attend to you, they are provided with all the training required to deliver the dietary assessment and support. They are also supervised throughout your consultation and as they make decisions regarding your care.
Individual consultation
Upon booking you will be asked to complete an intake form to provide the clinic with your background and current usual dietary intake. During a 30-minute individual consultation, a student dietitian will work with you to develop personalised goals and provide advice, strategies and resources to support you to optimise your diet. An Accredited Pratcising Dietitian will supervise the session and two additional students will observe the consultation.
The service is currently available for adults (aged 18 years and over) seeking dietary support for a range of conditions including type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes/insulin resistance, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and/or weight management. Please note that conditions requiring consistent dietetic care cannot be catered for in the clinic (for example, eating disorders, elimination diets (e.g., Low FODMAP diet), or nutrition/hydration planning for sports events)
Referral and appointments
No referral is necessary.
Consultations are available Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings from January to mid-November each year.
