
Exercise Physiology Clinic
Located at the new Hunter Sports Centre at Glendale, the Exercise Physiology Clinic has been designed to offer high-quality, low cost care to the local community, while also providing a training facility for postgraduate students completing the Master of Exercise Physiology program.
The aim of the clinic is to provide affordable, evidence based treatment to prevent, treat and manage a range of health conditions, injuries and disabilities. We also offer injury prevention, performance programs and general health and wellness advice.
What services are provided?
A range of services available at the University of Newcastle Exercise Physiology Clinic, including;
Initial assessment- Clinical history, physical and bio-psychosocial assessment, goal setting.
Standard consultation- Exercise delivery, re-assessment and review of goals, home exercise program, self-management strategies, educations.
Group consultation- Group exercise, education, home program, self-management strategies.
Speciality tests and assessments- Body composition, aerobic capacity, musculoskeletal assessments.
Periodised self-managed program- After the initial assessment, a periodised self-managed plan may be developed to complete independently over 6, 12,18 or 24 week period.
Telehealth consultation- If you are unable to attend face to face, we offer online consultations via zoom.
Students are able to work with private clients only, all third part funded clients will be seen by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists accept Medicare CDM (bulk billed), DVA white and gold card holders, NDIS self managed plans, Workers Compensation and some Private Health Insurance funds (*dependant on individual policy).
