Establishment
This scholarship has been established to support and acknowledge an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidate who is passionate about driving change in the sports industry and is undertaking postgraduate study in either the Master of International Sports Business or the Master of Sports Analytics at the University of Newcastle. By contributing toward tuition costs, the scholarship invests in indigenous leadership in sport to build the reputation of the Sports Masters Program Suite through excellence in both sport and study.

Applicable to postgraduate, Indigenous, part-time study permitted.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:
- Be commencing study in the Master of International Sports Business or Master of Sports Analytics.
- Establish your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status per the process outlined on the Wollotuka Institute's study with us page.
- Be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident (including holders of a permanent humanitarian visa and New Zealand citizens with permanent residency).
- Not hold another scholarship for the same program of study.
Required Documentation
Required documents will be listed on the ‘Your Documents’ page of your application. The application portal accepts PDF only. A maximum of 3 PDF smaller than 5 MB can be added per document type upload field.
- A personal statement (approx. 1 A4 page) outlining your academic achievements, career aspirations in the relevant area of study, and how this scholarship would assist you. This statement will cover all scholarships you are submitting for.
Benefit
There is one scholarship available each year.
This scholarship provides a maximum benefit of $7000 towards tuition fees for the program. The scholarship benefit will be applied on a pro-rata basis in each term of study for the duration of the scholarship (1 year for full-time study or up to 2 years part-time), providing a $875 fee reduction against each eligible 10-unit course taken. The fee reduction will only be applied to courses required to successfully complete the program (as specified in the Program Handbook).
The scholarship provides:
- Total Scholarship Value: $7000
- Unit Value (per 10 units): $875
The scholarship benefit and number of scholarships awarded may vary and will be determined by the funding available in each year.
Selection
Selection is a competitive process and will be based on assessment of the scholarship application and any required supporting documents.
Selection will be made by a panel which will consist of a minimum of 3 members from Newcastle Business School and Global Institute of Sport.
