This conference is devoted to the history of violence in East Central Europe from the Middle Ages to the end of the 20th century.  The Call for Papers is now open and closes on 30 March 2025.  Work is particularly welcomed on physical, symbolic, psychological, and military violence and explorations of its relations with gender, class, race and ethnicity.  We encourage discussion of stories of individual, but also collective violence, from the perspective of social history, legal history, cultural and military history.
