Biography
Verity Askew is an Associate Lecturer in Allied Health at the University of Newcastle, Department of Rural Health (UONDRH), based at the Manning Education Centre (MEC) in Taree.
Verity graduated from Curtin University in Western Australia in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) and has worked in several rural hospital environments both public and private, from WA to Victoria and now the Mid North Coast of NSW. Most recently Verity has been based at Manning Base Hospital in Taree, working in the Intensive Care Unit as well as the acute surgical and orthopaedic wards. Verity has a strong interest in physiotherapy in the acute hospital environment, as well as community and rehab in rural settings.
In her role with the Department of Rural Health, Verity enjoys supporting physiotherapy and other allied health students as they undertake clinical placements in a rural setting, providing professional development and community engagement opportunities as well as interprofessional learning modules and physiotherapy specific tutorials.
