Biography

Olabode Emmanuel Ogunmakinde is studying for PhD (Building) at the School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Newcastle, Australia. Olabode received both Bachelor of Technology (BTech.) and Master of Technology (MTech.) degrees in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria where he currently works as an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Architecture. He has been working on sustainability, sustainable development, sustainable construction, sustainable design, building maintenance, behavioural architecture and architectural education since 2009. For his doctoral thesis, he is developing a circular economy-based construction waste management framework for the Nigerian construction industry. He has several publications (journal articles and conference papers) covering his area of research interest till date. He has more than six years experience in architectural practice and academia. He has to his credit two awards which are: Best graduating student (Department of Architecture, Federal University of Technology, Akure) in 2009 and Best overall student in N.D. Architecture (The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria) in 2005. Olabode is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), a student member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Australian Institute of Building (AIB) and Association of Researchers in Construction Management (ARCOM). He is hardworking, committed, and a fun lover. He is an active soccer player. In his free time, he plays both piano and bass guitar.

The course aims to develop the student's general understanding and practical skills in digital media for design, communication and documentation, including basic CAD modelling (3D) and the digital and analogue presentation (2D) of a selected project. This includes techniques to generate design presentations that demonstrate a good use of design principles as well as to generate drawings for the communication process with the building industry.
