Career Summary

Biography

Michele is a PhD candidate in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education and Arts at the University of Newcastle. Her research is centred on late-medieval queens in England, particularly in economic and social terms, and focuses specifically on the economic resources, lands and social networks/affinities of these queens.

Michele completed a Bachelor of Arts (History and Ancient History) at the University of New England, and her Honours in History at the University of Newcastle for which she received Class 1. Her thesis analysed the propagandist and persuasive elements of the penances imposed on King Henry II of England in 1170 for the killing of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket. 

Michele is a member of ANZAMEMS and the Society for Medieval Feminist Scholarship, and a postgraduate member of the Royal Historical Society, UK.
