Career Summary

Biography

I have recently had the fantastic experience of shifting to my own start-up as a cofounder of Diffuse Energy, a spinout from the University of Newcastle.  Diffuse Energy strives to allow anyone to play a part in energy generation and we do this by making highly efficient, cost effective and quiet small wind turbines.  
Remember when Solar panels and solar hot water systems were a bit weird, you can if you are my age, now they are totally normal.  Wouldn’t it be amazing to be part of making small wind turbines normal anywhere there is wind!
Being the Co-founder of a deep-tech start-up brings together all my experience to date as well as the satisfaction of having a positive impact on the world!
I am an Experienced Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the management / consulting industries. Currently supporting research through innovative design. 
From previous jobs, I am also skilled in RCM, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability Engineering, Condition Monitoring, and Root Cause Analysis. Strong professional with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) Mechanical Engineering from University of Newcastle. Prior to Engineering, I spent 15 years working in and managing several businesses of various sizes.

Venture capitalist blown away by University-born small wind turbine startup

The University of Newcastle-based start-up, Diffuse Energy, has secured $400,000 in seed funding from Australian venture capital fund, Shearwater Growth Equity, to scale production of its promising renewable energy option.
