Career Summary

I did my PhD in Psychology on the topic of decision-making with algorithmic advisors. Algorithm's touch on nearly every aspect of daily life - e.g., product purchasing, Netflix recommendations, and more recently ChatGPT - I'm interested in how people decide to accept or reject recommendations from these systems and integrate new information into their decision-making process. Questions about people's level of trust in new technologies, experience with making the same decisions themselves, and the strategies they invent to test and explore the decision aids are the kinds of investigations I'd be interested to pursue alongside an honours student.

With regard to my background, I graduated with a PhD in 2022 from the University of New South Wales, Sydney under the supervision of Prof. Ben Newell and Prof. Chris Donkin. I'm currently a post-doctoral researcher working with Scott Brown, Guy Hawkins, and Ami Eidels.

Outside of work, I enjoy bouldering, NBA (I like the Bucks), and the odd game of chess. Also, I'm (slowly) learning to surf.
