Biography
Farooq Yousaf has completed his PhD in Politics from the University of Newcastle (2015-2019). He originally comes from Peshawar, Pakistan. His PhD research focused on the role of indigenous conflict resolution methods in countering Insurgency in tribal areas of Pakistan. His theoretical approach used a Postcolonial critique and argued how a Postcolonial legacy in Pakistan negatively affected the Pashtun periphery. Prior to his PhD studies, he completed his Masters in Public Policy, with concentration in Conflict Studies, from the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of Erfurt, Germany.
He has previously worked for Islamabad based Centre for Research and Security Studies as a Research Analyst. He has also been regularly contributing to various news sources. He has been part of various international conferences, exchange programs, and workshops on media, law, and internet governance in Pakistan, Germany, UK, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Austria, Malaysia, Singapore, Poland and Russia.
