When will the change come into effect?

The University have consulted with staff and students for an Alternate Academic Calendar. There are currently two alternate options going forward for implementation. These options can be viewed here. One of these options will proceed to be implemented in 2026. No changes will be made to the Academic Calendar for 2025.

The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
