The Centre for Law and Social Justice hosts first event!
The Centre for Law and Social Justice has hosted its first online event. The webinar titled, 'The Djokovic Visa Controversy, Human Rights and Australian Law,' took place on the 1st of March 2022.

The event brought together an impressive panel of legal experts to explore the legal controversies emerging from the cancellation of Novak Djokovic’s Australian visa. Experts discussed the ‘godlike’ powers of the Immigration minister, Australia’s immigration and border policies, and the relationship between sport and human rights in Australia. The webinar will be available on the Centre's website for re-watching and sharing.
Special thanks to our panel members and Associate Professor Amy Maguire for chairing the event.
Panel:
Professor Jack Anderson from the University of Melbourne
Associate Professor Marie O'Sullivan from Monash University
Associate Professor Mary Anne Kenny from Murdoch University
Dr Sangeetha Pillai from UNSW
