After completing a master’s degree in aerospace engineering and management in his home country of Germany, Moritz was looking to round out his experience – and give himself a professional edge. The University of Newcastle’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) was the perfect fit.

“As far as I am concerned, the MBA will give me a head start,” said Moritz.

In particular, Moritz was drawn to the MBA to expand his knowledge of strategic management – and the international business arena.

“The MBA offers a lot in terms of management and leadership skills. A big part are group assignments which enhance my ability to work in international teams, solving complex business scenarios and cases.

“One of my last courses addresses moral issues and ethics in business which is a completely new field for me. This will be a key takeaway,” he said.

Whether it’s learning from experts in the industry, collaborating with fellow students, or just enjoying the Newcastle lifestyle, Moritz says it’s been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“I am just as excited as I was on the first day – meeting new people and creating my personal network.

“I am young and most of my study colleagues are already in their professional careers which allows me to learn from their experiences,” he added.

After graduating, Moritz plans to return to Germany to launch his professional career in the aviation industry, specialising in innovation and business development.
