Tandin Wangmo
National Leadership Award - 2019
Tandin Wangmo is CEO of the Bhutanese non-profit RENEW - Respect, Educate, Nurture, Empower Women which works with families affected by domestic and gender-based violence (DV/GBV) and is the only Civil Society of its kind in Bhutan.
Since she began her work with RENEW, Tandin has had a substantial impact on her local and national community. Some of her achievements include establishing Regional Centres for victims of DV, strengthening international relations with India to help stop human trafficking, and establishing the Bhutan Red Cross Society.
Tandin is committed to creating equality and peace within her community.
