Eligibility
In celebration of the University’s 60th Anniversary in 2025, we recognise the positive impacts made by our institution both locally and globally, whilst boldly looking ahead to the future. In doing so, we want to ensure that all our communities feel a sense of pride in our shared history, particularly our alumni, many of whom are the living embodiment of our University’s values.
Members of our alumni community that can access the full suite of alumni benefits includes:
- Graduates who have completed a diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Newcastle;
- Graduates from antecedent institutions, who have been awarded an undergraduate, post graduate degree or diploma. These institutions include Newcastle Teachers College; National Art School (amalgamated with NCAE in 1975); Newcastle University College (Tighes Hill); Newcastle Conservatorium of Music; Newcastle College of Advance Education and the Hunter Institute of higher Education.
- Graduates who have completed Open Foundation, NewStep or Yapug via Pathways and Academic Learning Support (PALS).
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
