Who is the Fair Work Ombudsman?

The Fair Work Ombudsman is an independent statutory agency of the Government of Australia that serves as the central point of contact for free advice and information on the Australian national workplace relations system.

What Was Discussed?

This presentation provided students with an overview of the Fair Work Ombudsman and its roles. The presentation touched on the National Employment Standards (NES), which are the 10 minimum workplace entitlements offered to all Australian employees. Awards (also known as pay guides) relevant to the nursing and midwifery profession was also discussed.
