NeW Futures Strategic Plan 2016-25
There are current seismic changes in the global geopolitical, environmental and economic landscape and we know that the world that our students, staff and graduates will experience in the next 50 years will be very different from 2015. The nature of businesses, jobs and the workforce will undergo transformation, particularly in Australia as we move from an economy dependent on commodities to one reliant on new technologies, discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship. Equally the world of higher education will be disrupted by technology, the democratisation of access to knowledge and the formation of international research consortia to address major global challenges. These will be challenging times but universities that respond and adapt will play a key role in the emergence of knowledge based economies across the world and education will continue to be a vital force in building social cohesion and economic resilience and growth.
The work carried by our university and broader communities - from Port Macquarie to Sydney, from Callaghan to Singapore - to shape our decadal strategic plan has been rigorous, inspiring and bold. We have worked together to build on our foundations to shape a road map that will meet the challenges of the future. We are committed to delivering the goals and to delivering each of the lead strategies in the NeW Futures Strategic Plan 2016-2025 to create a better future through the work of a great University.
