Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the Department of Rural Health
One of the core values underpinning the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health is a commitment to widening participation, promoting diversity and fairness, overcoming injustice, and increasing success for all.
We are committed to fostering inclusion, diversity, and belonging through a supportive, safe, and understanding work and study environment. We strive to ensure that all staff and students experience dignity and respect, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, sexuality, sex, gender identity, disability, or health and well-being needs.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee
The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health has an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee (EDIC). The committee recommends and advocates for initiatives and support mechanisms that address equity, diversity and inclusion for our students, staff and communities.
Currently, the committee is composed of staff from the department, but we always welcome input and feedback from students or community members.
