Information for UoN researchers and staff about the Higher Education Research Data Collection and publications collection process

HERDC Research Publications Collection and NURO

The annual Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) is handled jointly by staff from the Library and Research Services, with Research Services having ultimate responsibility for the submission to the Department of Education. This results in funding allocations returned to the University.

Researchers are responsible for adding and checking their research publications in the NURO Research Publications Management System, which populates their online researcher profile. Library staff verify publications once they are added to NURO and collect evidence required by the Department of Education for the HERDC.

The 2015 HERDC Research Publications Collection is now open.
Please login and check your 2015 publications and add records for any publications that are missing. Use the new file upload function to attach peer review information, context statements for creative works or other supporting information.

The deadline for adding 2015 publications into NURO is 31 March 2016

The Research Publications Collection guide contains information for University of Newcastle researchers about NURO and the publications collection process, including publication categories and HERDC eligibility criteria. NURO user guides and FAQS are also available.

Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)

The Library assists the Research Office with external research assessment initiatives such as the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) exercises. We provide services and support to collect, store and facilitate access to the university's peer reviewed research outputs to meet ERA requirements. Further information about ERA is available from Research Services
