Rayeda, a student from Bangladesh, chose to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Human Resource Management at the University of Newcastle. This decision was influenced by the university’s impressive graduate employability rate, reputational global rankings and course structure.

Rayeda felt assured that she would gain in-demand skills upon graduation, especially after discovering the high-quality employment prospects for Business and Management graduates. Additionally, the University of Newcastle’s Business School ranks among the top three in NSW and holds reputable accreditation from EQUIS and AACSB. Rayeda studies in Newcastle were further enabled by the International Excellence Scholarship she received.

The design and structure of the combined degree program also appealed to Rayeda. This program allows students to study more general business disciplines through the MBA, while also delving into specific Human Resources Management courses. “I am gaining enriched insights into the organisational and individual sector business environment. Engaging with various academic and non-academic individuals is helping me to enhance my knowledge and skills,” says Rayeda.

Rayeda primarily studies at NUspace and appreciates the welcoming learning environment it provides. “The library resources, extended opening hours, security presence, and nightly shuttle bus service, all contribute to a safe environment that allows me to focus on improving my academic skills. The supportive environment from every corner of the university is the highlight of my degree,” she adds.

Outside of her studies, Rayeda enjoys expanding her social circle by participating in the university’s Jujutsu club and volunteering as an Administrative Assistant at the Charlestown Caring Group.

Set to graduate in 2025, Rayeda aspires to work in the recruitment sector as a recruitment consultant or HR business partner. As an international student, post-study work rights will enable Rayeda to commence her career in Australia.
