Welcome to the University of Newcastle!
Orientation is a great opportunity to find out what you need to know about university life and being a University of Newcastle student. Attend the orientation as provided by PSB Academy.
Before you begin, download the Orientation Checklist to assist you in ensuring that you are on track.
Activation & Enrolment
Follow the guide below for a smoother start to your journey.
- View the Enrolments and Student Matters video at https://youtu.be/HQyAh053u1w.
- Download the Enrolment Information Booklet.
- Activate your student account – Follow the guide in the Enrolment Information Booklet. Refer to your offer letter for your Student ID number.
- Enrol in courses – Follow the guide in the Enrolment Information Booklet.
Note: Allow 6-24 hours for all the systems to synchronise before you try to access the other University systems such as Canvas, NUmail, etc.

In your own time…
- Download and read the Student Handbook.
- Watch the introductory videos on Canvas and the Online Library.
Other important notes:
- You need to add courses before the start of every term. Keep the Enrolment Information Booklet as you may need it in the future.
- You are required to always correspond with your university email (NUmail).
