The Ed Revue
Join us for a day and night of fun and be stunned by our Primary Education students in The Ed Revue – an entertaining performance following the journey of a school preparing for a musical. Hilarity ensues as University of Newcastle superstars become teaching triple threats where acting, singing and dancing are as second nature as reading, writing and arithmetic!
This student-led production was written by local legend, Paul Russell. Paul is a University of Newcastle Academic, primary teacher, CBCA notable author, Australian Speech Pathology picture book of the year winner and CONDA Award recipient. The Ed Revue features a cast of 30 talented Primary Education students who have spent their spare time busily rehearsing with Director and resident Creative Arts enthusiast, Renae Youman. Renae is a University of Newcastle Associate Lecturer, Tertiary Supervisor and HDR student (researching Creative Arts, of course!) University of Newcastle alumna, Ciara Smith, is a Kindergarten teacher by day and Creative Concept genius by night. Ciara suggested the project following a Creative Arts course. The rest, you could say, is history!
Proud to join the 60-year celebrations for the University of Newcastle, as Primary Education students embody the values and skills gathered during their time spent at the University – combining creativity, courage and collaboration.
