Susan Hood is the Global Experience Advisor at the University of Newcastle. She is an alumna of the University of Sydney, where she studied Psychology and Human Resources. With family connections spanning the United States, the Philippines, and the Netherlands, Susan brings a truly global outlook to her work. Her extensive international travel has deepened her appreciation for cross-cultural learning and the personal growth that comes from stepping outside one’s comfort zone.

Research Projects

New Colombo Plan 2021 - 2025

Susan Hood has worked extensively with researchers to win New Colombo Plan funding for undergraduate students to have global experiences in the Indo-Pacific Region as part of their degree. Susan has worked on delivering New Colombo Plan funded study tours and overseas internships with CHSF and CHMW staff and students, as well as Semester Exchange to partner universities throughout Asia. The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government to support bilateral ties between Australian University staff and Students with our closest neighbors.
