Career Summary
Biography
Saima Hayes is a Conjoint Teaching Fellow at the Manning Clinical School within the Department of Rural Health. She is also a Physiotherapist working in Paediatrics at Taree Community Health Centre where she has a particular interest in Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) and Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (CTEV).
Saima completed her first undergraduate degree at UNSW in 1994, receiving First Class Honours in Aerospace Engineering. She worked in several different engineering roles before making the move to Physiotherapy, graduating with Distinction from the University of Sydney in 1999. She worked at The Royal Hospital for Women Randwick (2001-2002), Liverpool Hospital (2003-2009), and The Children's Hospital at Westmead (2000 and 2010-2013) before moving north to work in Taree in 2013.
She is passionate about children and young people in rural areas having access to high quality health care services and loves to teach Medical Students at the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health.
