Career Summary
Biography
My research history alternates between animals and people.
My Honours degree involved neurological and cardiovascular research in Physiology and Pharmacology. I then worked as a Research Assistant on a Population, habitat and viability assessment of free ranging koalas. My PhD thesis focused on the behaviour and ecology of tropical rockpossums (Petropseudes dahli and Wyulda sqaumicaudata). Employment then involved various projects on indigenous people with Menzies School of Health. Then I worked at a Research Scientist at CSIRO on the immunocontraception of house mice. After this I was employed by NSW Health to conduct research in Mental Health (in particular, the topic of suicide).
Presently, I have a Conjoint Research Fellow position at University of Newcastle (Australia) I developed a new complementary strategy in combating cancer of which the peer reviewed paper has been downloaded over 20,000 times. I have publications in peer reviewed journals and I am author of book chapters in Mammals of Australia Editions, articles in popular magazines such as Australian Geographic, Nature Australia and most recently, Fishing World.
I have published three books,
Adventure Memoir "WILD-Life death encounters with wild animals"
Non-fiction "Stages of Suicide-How to help your Mind".
Fiction "Deleting Vincent-A female killer's confessions"
