Career Summary
Biography
I am an obstetrician gynaecologist and clinician–researcher specialising in reproductive health, contraception, and women’s health equity. My PhD examined models of contraceptive provision within alcohol and drug treatment settings, providing me additional expertise in substance use in pregnancy, perinatal epidemiology and the reproductive health needs of priority populations.
As part of my role at the University of Newcastle, I am responsible for the coordination and delivery of medical student education in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Gosford Hospital campus. In this role, I oversee curriculum design, clinical teaching, and assessment, and work closely with academic nursing and midwifery colleagues to deliver an interprofessional curriculum, enhancing student confidence and capability in women’s health. I am committed to creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment and to strengthening the next generation of health practitioners through high‑quality, evidence‑based education.
In addition to my academic work, I offer comprehensive private gynaecology care grounded in evidence‑based, trauma‑informed practice. My clinical interests span the full spectrum of gynaecological health, including menstrual concerns, pelvic pain, menopause care, contraception, cervical screening, and management of common gynaecological conditions. I also provide periodic public obstetric care in the Hunter New England region.
