Career Summary

Biography

Dr Joshua Bennetts is a clinical academic pharmacist and postdoctoral researcher from the Newcastle Centre of Excellence in Cardio-Oncology. Joshua completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy with First Class Honours in 2018 and received his general pharmacist registration in 2020. He was later awarded a University of Newcastle Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship and began his career in research and academia in 2021.

Grounded in cardio-oncology—the nexus of cardiovascular health and cancer—his research largely focusses on pharmacist-led models of care to better manage and mitigate the deleterious effects of cardiovascular disease secondary to cancer and its treatment; especially across transitions of care.

Joshua has established himself as a lead in cardio-oncology pharmacy within Australia, presenting his research both nationally and internationally. He currently serves as the Australian Governor for the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy and is an active member of the International Cardio-Oncology Pharmacist Working Group.

Joshua is a credentialled pharmacist who continues to work clinically through the provision of domiciliary medication management review services for his community.
