Career Summary
Biography
Ms Isabelle Barnes is the Research Coordinator for the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health (ALSWH) and the Centre for Women’s Health Research, based at the University of Newcastle. She holds a Bachelor of Clinical Science, a Master of Public Health, and a Diploma of Leadership and Management.
Isabelle plays a key role in the management of several research projects within the Centre. Her work spans project development and implementation, the management and training of research staff, and strategic support. Isabelle leads the development of ethics applications for ALSWH, including the design of study and participant materials that comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements. She also has expertise in qualitative analysis, longitudinal survey development, and participant recruitment and retention.
Isabelle is committed to ensuring research insights inform policy and practice. She has contributed to submissions for government inquiries, and is actively involved in translating research findings into accessible formats. Notably, she co-presented at the Hunter New England and Central Coast Local Health District Primary Healthcare Network Data Storytelling Workshop. Recently, she also co-facilitated a Publication to Policy Workshop, held at the Hunter Medical Research Institute.
