Biography

Erin Fisher is currently employed as an Educator in Nutrition and Dietetics for the University Department of Rural Health based in Armidale; alongside this role, Erin is also employed as a Clinical Dietitian at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital. Erin is an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Since graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2007 Erin has developed her skills in dietetic practice in both clinical and outpatient settings in the New England region as well as completing further studies in Diabetes Education and a Masters in Health Management. Erin has completed a research project as a candidate of the HETI Rural Research Capacity Building Program evaluating a novel nutrition technology's ability to identify malnutrition. Erin is a higher degree research student at the University of Newcastle where she will continue to explore the application of nutrition informatics in the clinical setting. 

Erin's role at the University Department of Rural Health focuses on the facilitation of Nutrition and Dietetics placements in the New England Region this includes Medical Nutrition Therapy, Community and Public Health and Food Service placements. Erin aims to coordinate placements that are rewarding for both students and local clinicians with an aim to promote rural health and rural dietetic practice.
