Biography
Ellie Bassos is a Project Assistant at the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) Centre for Brain Cancer Research, supporting research aimed at improving outcomes for people with brain cancer. She first became involved with the MHF Centre through a Summer Research Scholarship in her first year of university — her initial experience in a medical research laboratory. This exposure sparked a deep interest in the investigative nature of cancer research, especially for glioblastoma, which remains the most devastating form of adult brain cancer.
Ellie now holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Distinction from the University of Newcastle. She contributes to the MHF Centre’s work through laboratory operations and the development of scientific resources that enhance research efficiency, safety, and reproducibility, strengthening the MHF Centre’s overall research capability.
