Mr Dean Innis

I have been associated professionally with Biomedical, Health and Clinical Sciences since 2001, working academically within Top 20 Ranked Universities WorldWide ( USYD and UNSW ).

UNSW (2023) Sydney University (2020 to 2023), CQUniversity ( 2015 to 2021) (Anatomy, Neuroanatomy) - Sydney Campus Discipline Lead (2017 to 2019).

Academically, I have taught Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate units at a number of Universities including CQU, Sydney University, UPF Barcelona (BCC ) - Clinic Director and Academic - Spain, Laureate International University, Ass Program Leader for Biosciences (Nationally) - ACNT, Macquarie University, Newcastle University and UWS. I have experience teaching into almost every Professional Health Degree program including Medicine, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Chiropractic, Exercise and Sport, Podiatry, Oral Health, Nursing, and Nutritional Medicine. Late 2020 I worked as an Associate Professor for ACC amidst the turmoil of COVID-19, that decimated Tertiary Education in Australia, retuning to MQU in 2021, USYD 2020, UON(Current). Within these roles I have also played a sigificant role in deveopling Placements and Work Experience opportunities for students within their professional field and industry generally.

I have worked with many of Australia's largest Medical groups as a recruiter in Allied Health. (MHC, Symbion, Primary and Healius) since 1998.

Extensive experience in academia, management and leadership has been demonstrated in the areas above and in Course Coordinating / Convening various heavily enrolled academic units - into the hundreds.

My academic career has paralleled practice privately and professional consultancy to many athletes as a Musculoskeletal Sports Clinician for teams of the NBL (Sydney Kings and West Sydney Razorbacks) and competitive surfers - ASP International (now WSL) with associated onsite work around the world.

Research Expertise
For many years Dean has been interested in the Epidemiology of common sporting injuries. This has included the documentation, investigation and management of injuries towards prevention. Dean's research interests have resulted in his working at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, numerous University Games and consulting with professional Basketball organisations including the former Sydney Kings, West Sydney Razorbacks and in more recent years the Association of Surfing Professionals - International.
