Career Summary
Biography
Benjamin Gibb is an Adjunct Associate Lecturer within the School of Education, specialising in Modern Languages, EAL/D & International Studies curriculum and teaching practice at the 7-12 high school level. He is an active teacher-practitioner in NSW public schools, and is currently Head Teacher of Languages, EAL/D and International Studies at St Ives High School in Sydney.
His career as a high school teacher and middle leader of Languages and EAL/D has spanned a range of independent and public schools in NSW, as well as working to accredit and work at Japan's first public MYP International Baccalaureate school in Sapporo. He has held roles at the NSW Department of Education as a Languages Officer, MYP Coordinator at the Sapporo Board of Education and as a syllabus writer for NESA (2022 Modern Languages K-10 Syllabus).
His interests and expertise focus on sustainable and effective teaching practices for language teachers, the development of global competence, ICT, Japanese language and community attitudes toward the study of modern languages.
