Newcastle Callaghan

The original campus for the University of Newcastle, Callaghan is a beautiful mix of award-winning, architecturally designed buildings sitting across 140 hectares in a natural setting.

Our relaxed campus environment allows you to study free from distraction. With the centre of Newcastle just 10km away, the campus is well connected to key regional employers and industry, including the John Hunter Hospital and Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI). The campus is the central hub for education, humanities, social science, and the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM), as well as nursing and health.

Newcastle City

In the heart of the city, our Newcastle City campus provides an integral link with industry across creative industries, business and law.

The campus is a hive of innovation in the city centre. Our state-of-the-art facility NUspace delivers a ‘next generation’ university experience, while our innovation hub is where you can engage with entrepreneurs, innovators, startups and developers to produce ideas that challenge the conventional. The first building in the Honeysuckle precinct, Q Building, provides state-of-the-art facilities as our new creative and entrepreneurial hub in the city.

Central Coast

Halfway between Newcastle and Sydney sits the Central Coast region, with beautiful waterways, national parks and coastal towns. Our campuses at Ourimbah and Gosford offers study programs in business, education, humanities and social science, medicine, biomedicine and law, oral health therapy, podiatry and nursing and the sciences (food, coastal and marine and exercise and sports).

Our students benefit from strong links with local industry, and partnerships with the Central Coast Local Health District for specialised health degrees, world-class research and testing facilities, as well as growing opportunities for research. In 2021, the Central Coast Clinical School expanded our campus locations into Gosford.
