Anita has been working in the nursing and midwifery sector for over 30 years across various roles including Intensive Care and Midwifery Group Practice, flight nurse with Royal Flying Doctor Service, and is currently employed within Retrieval Services Queensland.

For the last 15 years, Anita has worked within Retrieval Services Queensland. Ranging from clinical nurse, educator and clinical nurse consultant for Telehealth Emergency Management Support Unit (TEMSU), and currently working  as Senior Midwifery Advisor, a midwifery focused program at RSQ.

“Our service provides education, clinical support and opportunities for rural, remote and regional clinician collaboration in Queensland,” she said.

Throughout her career, Anita has undertaken many different programs of study to ensure her education is accurate for recent health trends and changes.

Recalling her Master of Midwifery Studies, Anita enjoyed the variety of options and leadership focus of electives.

“My most enjoyable subject during my master's was NURS6027 Evidence Based Complementary and Integrative Health. I also benefitted from the Leadership and Management subjects and the core Midwifery program for my work-based projects,” she said.

Reflecting on how great her experience was, she felt lucky to study in the program and visit the campus during her online program. Anita encourages anyone considering studying to absolutely go for it.
