 
    
    Strengthening leadership qualities in Nursing
After earning her bachelor's degree in nursing and gaining valuable work experience in the field, Xinyue Wen recognized the need to further enhance her skills, particularly in leadership and coordination.
Xinyue Wen chose to study the Master of Nursing at the University of Newcastle because of its globally recognised reputation and ranking for Nursing education. Before she made the decision, Xinyue did a lot of research about the program, she shared, “I felt that the course structure and arrangement is very reasonable. Alongside the core courses, there are various specialized courses that students can choose based on their areas of interest, such as geriatrics, advanced nursing practice, and emergency medicine.”
Xinyue also hopes to expand her professional network in the health and nursing industry, “I have always had deep feelings for the nursing profession I hope that I can improve my communication and leadership skills during my postgraduate studies and make more contributions in the Nursing filed.”
Beyond advancing her professional skillset, Xinyue immersed herself in the lifestyle the Newcastle offered. After living in the city for a few months, she has enjoyed activities such as surfing lessons and participating in events organised by the University for international students.
Xinyue encourages other international students to take full advantage of the learning opportunities and personal growth available at the University of Newcastle. After completing her studies, she plans to return to China to work in a hospital and continuing to contribute to clinical nursing.
“It is a great honor for us to have the opportunity to study at the University of Newcastle. We have sufficient time and full autonomy in learning. I hope that all international students can make good use of this time to improve their professional qualities and enrich their lives,” Xinyue shares.
