Allison's academic journey at the University of Newcastle represents a bold pivot from over seven years in the supply chain industry to the realms of business and accounting. Her decision to study the combined Master of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting program reflects her ambition to diversify her skill set and advance her career.
"The MBA and MPA programs have been instrumental in my career transition, equipping me with leadership, strategic management, finance, and accounting skills. This knowledge, combined with my supply chain experience, has significantly boosted my confidence and optimism for my future in the finance industry," Allison shares.
Her role as the Sydney campus convenor within the University of Newcastle Students' Association (UNSA) further emphasises her leadership journey. "Contributing to the student community through UNSA has been a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills and positively influence the student experience," she reflects.
Allison's academic progression from the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration to her current Masters program highlights her adaptability and commitment to continuous learning. This journey has been greatly supported by the China Excellence Scholarship. "Receiving this scholarship has eased my financial stress, allowing me to focus more effectively on my studies and personal development," she notes.
Allison's time at the university has been enriched with new skills, industry connections, and exposure to professional networking events. These experiences have prepared her for her future goals in the finance industry, where she aspires to guide and empower the next generation.
“My dream is to guide and empower younger generations in their career development, foster a positive and supportive workplace, influence organisational culture, and inspire individuals to achieve success through goodwill,” she states.
