Studies that prepare a career in business intelligence
In the information age data is the new oil, and data analytics is forecast to be one of the most in-demand jobs in the near future.
Navneet Kaur is taking advantage of that opportunity with her studies set to award her two masters degree qualifications within two years.
She says her combined Master of Business Administration (Global) and Master of Science (Data Analytics) is preparing her for a career in a rapidly growing industry.
“This degree will help me to gain new coding and analytical skills in Data Science along with management and marketing strategies,” Navneet said.
“It will help me gain detailed knowledge and open potential career paths in business intelligence as an analyst.
“Also, this degree provided various practical experiences which helped in enhancing my skills and abilities.”
Navneet came to Newcastle from Mohali, Punjab, India where she gained her Bachelor of Engineering at Chitkara University. She was awarded a scholarship by the University of Newcastle, which has a partnership with Chitkara.
While she enjoyed the University’s many learning resources and flexible study options, she also benefitted from the social experience of studying in Newcastle.
“I am passionate about learning new things, exploring new opportunities and improving my self-development and self-improvement in my personal life,” Navneet said.
“During my time at University of Newcastle I came across many people from different ethnicities and learnt their culture, language, made new friends and got to taste new cuisines.
“This will help me to build my career and make it easy for me to work with people from other cultures and make myself comfortable working with them. I am confident that I won’t feel uncomfortable by working anywhere in the world as I am more independent and experienced.”
Navneet said a highlight was a regional study tour that took students away from the major cities.
“The most exciting time was when the University gave us opportunity to go on regional trip to explore on how rural areas in Australia function and what strategies they use,” Navneet said.
“I will always recommend other students join the university and to participate in the extracurricular activities that will make them more adaptable and help them build their careers.”
