As Australia's leading arts curator, Nick Mitzevich has made major contributions to Australia’s cultural life. During his twenty-year career in the museum and art gallery sector in Newcastle, Queensland, South Australia and Canberra, Nick has overseen bold gallery revitalisation projects, hosted blockbuster collections, and curated prestigious public events, such as the 2014 Adelaide Biennale, Dark Heart.

As Director of the National Art Gallery of Australia, Nick is aware of his place within an international art scene based on tradition and wealth, and his energetic embrace of cultural diplomacy continues to draw positive attention to the youth and agility of Australian art institutions.
