Lee Shearer APM
Exceptional Community Service Award - 2019
As an exceptional leader across sectors, Lee Shearer’s work has greatly impacted our region in her various roles, delivering strong tangible outcomes for communities. Lee’s career began with NSW Police Force, culminating in Assistant Commissioner positions with General Counsel and Northern Region Command from 2005 to 2010.
In recent years, Lee has led significant reform to the way mining and resources in NSW are regulated and as Chief Compliance Officer, transformed the structure and the regulatory Framework of the Resources Regulator into one of the world's foremost high hazard industry regulators. Lee founded her own firm, Lee Shearer and Associates and continues to share her business and leadership expertise to transform the organisations she works with.
She has been awarded the 2019 NSW Telstra Businesswoman of the Year, 2019 Telstra NSW Public Sector & Academia Award and the 2007 Australian Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
