Dr Emma Beckett
Beryl Nashar Young Researcher Award - 2019
Dr Emma Beckett is a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Early Career Fellow at The University of Newcastle. Her research area is in the field of molecular nutrition focusing on gene-nutrient-environment interactions, in which she brings her experience in immunology, microbiology, food science, and human nutrition.
Emma currently has an H-Index of 15 and has attracted over $460 thousand in grants and funding. Emma also has a weekly radio segment on ANC Central Coast, Food For Thought, where she highlights the research being undertaken at UON Central Coast.
She is frequently a guest speaker for schools, community and corporate events, radio programs, and popular science podcasts.
