2024 Industry Open Day
Our 2024 Industry Open Day was held on 10 September 2024 and welcomed a wide range of industry and community partners to explore collaborative growth opportunities.
The event facilitated connections between University staff and business, and fostered collaboration across industry, government, researchers, and recruitment specialists.
Highlights included:
- Interactive professional development sessions covering a range of topics including harnessing the power of a multigenerational workforce, the impact of AI innovations on industry, and the latest technologies helping businesses achieve net-zero.
- An inspiring networking lunch where you could 'Meet an Expert' - read their statements here
- A compelling keynote presentation from respected business leader Samantha (Sam) Martin-Williams
- An insightful panel discussion on Neurodiversity, Disability, Gender Diversity, and Indigenous Inclusion.
The day culminated in a tour of some of the University's world-class facilities including the BioResearch Building, Electron Microscopy and X-ray Facility, Global Innovative Centre for Advanced Nanomaterials, Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI), Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources and NUbots – Newcastle Robotics Laboratory
