2023 Industry Open Day
Our 2023 Industry Open Day was held on 21 September 2023 at Callaghan Campus, bringing together industry and community partners to explore the issues and opportunities shaping the future of our Hunter region.
The event showcased our commitment to driving regional development and fostering meaningful partnerships through a dynamic program of professional development sessions, facility tours, and networking opportunities.
Highlights included:
- Engaging professional development sessions exploring the future of our workforce with a particular focus on Gen Z, and the growing industries of AI, cyber security, clean energy, and professional services
- Exclusive tours of our world-class research and teaching facilities at Callaghan Campus
- Insightful discussions on the importance of industry-led research partnerships and how businesses can collaborate with UON at the forefront of regional innovation
- A compelling panel discussion featuring senior University leaders and researchers
The day culminated in a networking reception where attendees continued to explore how UON can connect organisations with talented and engaged students, experienced researchers, and other areas of expertise to drive growth and prosperity in our region.
