Local Connections, our newest restaurant, is a journey through the flavours of Newcastle and the region.

The vision of chef and entrepreneur Alex Hunter, Local Connections celebrates the vibrant cuisine of Newcastle and the Hunter region, combining fresh, colourful ingredients into creative farm-to-table dishes. Our menu changes every day to highlight what's seasonal, flavourful, and available. Guests can take in the stunning bushland scenery of our Callaghan campus as they dine on an affordable budget.

Working solely with Newcastle area suppliers, the restaurant works to strengthen the connection between the University and community, while our team of food and beverage experts and kitchen attendants includes University of Newcastle students. It all combines to give our diners an authentic Newcastle experience like no other.

Come and experience it for yourself. Make a booking via the form here.
