Our menu
The vision of Local Connections celebrates the vibrant cuisine of Newcastle and the Hunter region, combining fresh, colourful ingredients into creative farm-to-table dishes.
Working primarily with Hunter Region suppliers we aim to connect food lovers with the people who lovingly tend the produce used in the restaurant. Our menu changes often to highlight what's seasonal, flavourful, and available. Guests can take in the stunning bushland scenery of our Callaghan campus as they dine.
Our people
Our restaurant works to strengthen the connection between the University and community. Our team of food and beverage experts and kitchen attendants include students from the University of Newcastle. Nestled in the heart of the campus, this dining destination is a unique experience like no other.

Getting here
We are located on the Callaghan Campus in the Shortland Building, next door to the Brennan Room (US209).
Parking is located next to Shortland Building (US) in Carpark 5 and along Shortland Road.
