Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

Each year The University of Newcastle invites applications for a limited number of Postdoctoral Research Fellowships to build the University's research and to support outstanding early career researchers seeking to commence an academic research career.

The University of Newcastle has a unique place in the higher education sector as the most research-intensive university outside an Australian capital city. The University’s 14 Priority Research Centres (PRCs) align with recognised strengths in the key areas of health, energy and the environment, and science and engineering. The Postdoctoral Fellowships Scheme provides the opportunity to embark on a research career supported within the PRCs and other University research centres. Find out more about our PRCs

Successful applicants will be given a salaried position for three years, a $15,000 Research Support Grant and the opportunity to be mentored by world leading researchers.

University of Newcastle Postdoctoral Research Fellowships are advertised internally and externally (in The Australian and on SEEK) in May/June each year.

Applications for the 2011 round have now closed. Applicants, successful and unsuccessful, will be notified of the outcome September/October 2011.
