Meet Aaron

When Aaron (pictured) first started university, he never imagined that studying a Bachelor of Arts would lead to a passion for anthropology.

“I began uni with the intention of become a Geography Teacher. I have always enjoyed teaching in jobs I had previously and wanted to make a career out of it,” he said.

“As I started mid-year I couldn’t enrol in teaching, so I choose arts instead with the intention of swapping over. In terms of the Arts degree, the freedom offered with the program is one of the biggest draw cards.

“After completing Intro to Cultural and Social Anthropology, I found my calling and changed my focus to Anthropology.

“To be honest my career aspirations change all the time. I think it is important to be fluid with goal setting, as you never know what you are going to find out there. Having said that at the moment, I want to be an academic, I want to teach and I want to research."
