Open your mind with a Diploma of Theology online

Balancing a Diploma of Theology with the day-to-day life of running her family dairy farm has become an achievable goal for Jennifer Rumbel, thanks to online learning.

It was a visit to the University of Newcastle’s annual Open Day that sparked Jennifer’s interest in a Diploma of Theology as a way to broaden her spiritual growth.

Living on a dairy farm in the isolated rural community of Eccelston in the Hunter Valley, a two hour drive from Newcastle, made it difficult for Jennifer to attend face-to face classes, so she quickly embraced the convenience and flexibility of studying online through the University’s partnership with the Broken Bay Institute.

“I didn’t think I’d like studying online first up but it’s fantastic,” she said.

“It’s everything you’d get in the classroom plus access to the library. I’m reading research material online, or printing it out at home. It’s very convenient for me.”
