The Newcastle campus was alive with colour, music and vibrancy last week as part of the annual Cultural Awakenings Festival.
The Cultural Awakenings Festival has been running since 1994 and is one of the highlights of the University’s events calendar as it is a chance for the community to celebrate the diversity and cultural heritage of its students. At any given time there are students from more than 80 countries on campus!
The event featured Latin dance parties, cultural seminars, international dance-offs, and the famous ‘Parade of Nations’ where students showcase the traditional dress and regalia of their home nation around campus. Students were also treated to an array of delicacies from around the world at an International Food Fair held at The Bar on the Hill.
