"I never really considered studying music until the very end of my HSC. I’d been playing the piano since I was three years old, but didn’t really think I had it in me to continue it as a career.

I had the fortunate experience to attend an Open Day at the University of Newcastle, and managed to grab a whole heap of information on a few of the courses I was interested in, which helped me to decide on what I wanted to do.

The University of Newcastle offers world-class lecturers and facilities, plus a whole variety of different experiences that allows students to develop individual creativity, while receiving high quality training in Music.

The main thing I have noticed in my studies at the University is the sense of community – everyone is welcome and everyone participates.”
